We recently asked one of our seniors, Ashly, to share her reflections on the senior journey. Here is what she had to say:
The transition from junior to senior year is challenging but transformative, especially when it comes to the college application process. At first, everything feels overwhelming, from deadlines and financial aid to the fear of not being “good enough.” As senior year continues, I feel more focused and confident, realizing that my hard work throughout high school truly matters and is preparing me for what comes next.
With my college counselor’s guidance through UC and CSU applications, FAFSA, and scholarships, the process becomes more manageable. Senior year is teaching me responsibility, time management, and the importance of believing in myself. Cristo Rey De La Salle East Bay plays a huge role in this journey, with counselors, teachers, and advisors who genuinely care and support us every step of the way.
Now, as acceptance letters begin to arrive, the senior class is choosing where the next chapter of our lives will begin. While I’m excited for the future, it also feels bittersweet knowing that this place, filled with meaningful relationships and constant support, will soon become a memory I carry with me.
Thanks Ashly – we look forward to following your journey!
