Research indicates the need for schools to explore the dynamics of personalized learning and to better understand the power of combining the science of individuality with the emerging technology tools to make personalization a reality in every classroom. Further, schools are called upon to engage their communities in ways that are lasting, substantial, and significant in order to truly embrace and personalized learning and the challenges that accompany implementation of this new and complicated system.

This project proposes comprehensive, consistent professional development with a clear progression for teachers so that they can:

  • See a clear path to mastery via checkpoints over the course of several years of development
  • Engage the larger school community via the DesignThink process to ensure that students are at the center of every solution and that no one person or entity derails conversations to promote an agenda
  • Have time built into their weekly schedule to debrief; identify challenges; and work together to address concerns.
