Building Community, Confidence, and Connection: Summer Bridge Welcomes the Class of 2030

The journey to high school begins with a first step—and at Cristo Rey De La Salle East Bay High School, that step starts with Summer Bridge.

This summer, our incoming 9th graders are getting a head start on high school through a dynamic program designed to help them feel confident, connected, and ready to become part of the Mustang community. Led by our amazing Corporate Work Study team, Summer Bridge gives students the opportunity to meet their classmates, build relationships with teachers and staff, explore the campus, and experience the welcoming community that makes Cristo Rey De La Salle unique.

Through hands-on activities, team-building experiences, academic preparation, and opportunities to connect with community and corporate partners, students are learning what it means to be a Cristo Rey student. They are developing the skills they will need to succeed in the classroom while beginning to understand the importance of leadership, service, and professional preparation.

One of the highlights of Summer Bridge is introducing students to the Corporate Work Study Program and the many possibilities that await them beyond the classroom. As they prepare to enter high school, students are already beginning to see how their education at Cristo Rey can connect them to the world of work and open doors to their future.

Most importantly, Summer Bridge is about belonging. Incoming 9th graders are building friendships, discovering new interests, asking questions, and finding their place in a community that believes in their potential.

As our newest Mustangs prepare to officially begin their high school journey, they are already showing the curiosity, energy, and determination that will define the Class of 2030. We can’t wait to see all they will accomplish!

Welcome to Cristo Rey De La Salle, Class of 2030! We are so glad you’re here.
