José Orozco was born and raised in the agricultural town of Santa Maria, CA which is known especially for its sweet strawberries and grapes. From 2011 to 2020, José ministered at St. Joseph High School, served as Confirmation Director, High School Youth Group Coordinator, and Director of Children’s RCIA at St. Louis De Montfort Church. José is a 2020 Spanish Linguistics graduate of St. Mary’s College of California. In 2020 he made the difficult decision to depart the Congregation of Josephites and the journey of becoming a Catholic priest after seven years of formation, however, he is very excited to minister at Cristo Rey De La Salle and their commitment to Lasallian Catholic learning through a community that educates young people to become men and women of faith, purpose, and service.
