My early childhood and young adult years were times of frequent relocation as I was a member of a U.S. Coast Guard family. I was born in New London; CT and we were assigned a new assignment every two to three years. The early part of my father’s career took us from the east coast to Alameda, CA; then to Cape May, NJ; Groton, CT; Falmouth, MA; Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; and my high school years were spent in NYC. Eventually I ended up in Carmel Valley, CA after a stint of two years in Houston, TX. After several years in the Monterey Bay area, I returned to school at what was Cal State Hayward and pursued a degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education. From that point I was able to serve as Director of Alameda County Special Olympics. To complete my master’s more quickly, also at Hayward State, I re-entered the field of wholesale plumbing distribution where I ended up spending most of my adult working life.My family profile is as follows: (1) My wife, Mary Kate and I just celebrated thirty-one years of marriage earlier this year; (2) Our adult son is a pilot working out of Bakersfield, CA; and (3) Our adult daughter is working on her degree at Xavier University, New Orleans. After an unexpected job change due to the current Covid pandemic, I entered in service to Cristo Rey De Lasalle working with the Work Study Program as a Driver since Nov 2020. It has been a pleasure to be a part of the team and our mission.
