Kitzia Benites Plata: Born and raised in the bay area, Kitzia is a 3rd year graduate student at St Mary’s College of California who is joining CRDLS as a Wholeness Counseling Intern. She will graduate in May of 2020 with a master’s degree in Counseling, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy and School Counseling. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. When she is not assisting school counselors at Cristo Rey De La Salle or at Martin Luther King Middle School in Berkeley, CA, she works at the California State University, East Bay in Hayward, assisting in the College Link Program. The College Link Program works on aiding students on the Autism spectrum to gain the skills to become independent and self sufficient students by focusing on developing their academics, social skills, independent living skills, and career prep skills. At CRDLS, she hopes to use her experience and knowledge to create a safe and welcoming space for students to grow.
