Gayle Klein joins Cristo Rey De La Salle as Vice President of the Corporate Work Study Program. Gayle’s primary reason for joining Cristo Rey is her desire to give back to her community and help students gain real world professional work experience.
Prior to obtaining the position, Gayle received honors degrees in Communication Studies and Sociology from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada and a master’s degree from the University of Western Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. Gayle also brings with her nearly 15 years of work experience in corporate leadership positions, specifically responsible for growing company revenue. Her experience is centered around strategically creating and implementing sales and marketing plans, while spearheading initiatives for business development and company expansions.
Beginning her career in 2004, with a children’s marketing company in Toronto, Gayle put into effect curriculum and educational programs into public schools to educate students about industries in need of new talent for entry level jobs.
Searching to expand her business acumen, Gayle wanted a position that focused on customer service and hospitality. She decided hotels would provide her with hands-on training and development, while allowing her to put her education to work. Gayle was recruited by Skyline Hospitality, Fairmont, Four Seasons and Kimpton Hotels in the Conference Service and Catering departments. There her responsibilities included selling hundreds of conference and catering contracts. She provided end-to-end event support to the sales and operation teams and ensured company and client expectations were being met. As she continued to grow in each position, Gayle’s reputation for exceeding personal and company revenue helped lead to the department’s financial success and growth.
In more recent years, Gayle has taken her skills to other industries such as, technology, event management, as well as production and design. These positions required executive high-level development of financial models, finance considerations (deal points), unique/customized proposals, live sales presentations, social media outreach and comprehensive sales and marketing plans.
Over the years, Gayle has provided leadership to many coordinators, managers, and directors. She prides herself on teaching others to use proper practices, monitor the needs and opportunities of prospective clients and leverage prior relationships to develop and implement strategic plans to sell services. These skills will serve her well as the Vice President of the Cristo Rey De La Salle Corporate Work Study Program.
At CRDLS, Gayle will be responsible for ensuring the success of the Corporate Work Study Program. Her strong sales and relationship skills will provide students with optimal corporate partners and set them up for success. She will determine best practices for the department and provide unwavering guidance for all students.
Gayle is honored to be part of the Cristo Rey family. “I want to provide our students with the power of real-world experience and help transform them from inexperienced adolescents into confident, and capable young adults. This powerful program is designed to lift up the students who may need it the most. With the passion and determination of the staff and faculty at Cristo Rey our students will have the opportunity to reach for the stars and truly accomplish their dreams.”
Gayle is excited to hit the ground running in the new year!
