CRISTO REY DE LA SALLE is a diverse Lasallian Catholic college preparatory high school. Located in the beautiful Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland, surrounded by a rich Black and Latino history, informed by a centuries-old Lasallian Charism, CRDLS is looking to hire a Director of Partnership Development for the Corporate Work Study Program to be a part of an amazing community helping to prepare trail-blazing first-gen students go to and through college!

As an independent private school, students aren’t placed at CRDLS; they choose us! We offer a near-zero tuition, college preparatory, student-centered instructional program. Faculty and staff are the backbone of the school and the development of relationships are foundational to the success of each student. 

Through our personalized mentorship program, mastery- and project-based curriculum, and corporate work study program experience, our mission is to prepare our students to lead lives of faith, purpose and service who will succeed in college and beyond. 

The Role 

Cristo Rey De La Salle High School generates over 50% of its operating revenue through the innovative Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) in which every student in the school works 5 days each month in entry-level positions in a variety of professional settings. We aspire to have positions at over 70 companies and organizations throughout the Bay Area. The monies students earn through this real-world work comes directly to the school to offset the cost of their education. Students fill entry-level office positions in banking, law, medicine, finance, and many other exciting career fields. 

The Director of Partnership Development stewards client relationships at the executive level to cultivate new – as well as ensure the retention and growth of existing – client relationships to achieve full and meaningful employment of all students. 

Maintaining and securing new work study sponsors is essential to the operation of Cristo Rey De La Salle and is dependent upon the Greater Bay Area business community having knowledge and high regard for the mission of the school. Essential to the success of this position is the ability to adeptly represent Cristo Rey and to build a positive brand through community outreach and involvement.

The Director of Partnership Development reports directly to the Vice President of the Corporate Work Study Program and works closely with the VP and the school CEO/President in support of a $4 million annual revenue goal and full employment of all students. The Director of Partnership Development will take a leadership role in the formation and ongoing management of the Corporate Work Study Program Board.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
  • Lead the development of a robust partnership strategy
    • Execute a strategic plan for job acquisition 
    • Manage the entire sales cycle with new partners including lead generation and cultivation, securing face-to-face meetings, selling the program, agreement execution, and onboarding
    • Build a database of potential partners through referrals from current sponsors, board members, other supporters of the school, and your own research 
    • Maintain up-to-date records in the CRM  
    • Plan and execute events in service of  job recruitment and retention 
    • Collaborate with the VP to create and nurture a well-rounded Corporate Work Study Program Board 
    • Serve in an executive role to develop and maintain relationships with C-Suite executives currently in the portfolio. Collaborate with Relationship Managers to ensure healthy partnerships 
      • Obtain renewal contracts from existing partners during the annual renewal process
  • Increase awareness of the CWSP among Bay Area business leaders
    • Develop relationships with several “centers of influences” that are sources of referrals and introductions 
  • Attend networking events and meetings to increase the number of prospects in the pipeline
  • Provide direction and advice to the Vice President, CWSP regarding the needs of potential and existing corporate sponsors
  • In collaboration with the VP of CWSP and Mission Advancement, design marketing materials, ensuring that communications are consistent and of high quality
  • Work with Mission Advancement to leverage and cultivate individual donor prospects identified through the job recruitment process who may be able to assist the school at large
  • Collaborate, as time permits, with the CWSP on relationship management, student and supervisor training, and site visits
  • Attend CWSP meetings and Schoolwide meetings to understand and gain insights into the school and student experience
  • Working primarily from campus to build community with all stakeholders to ensure effective stewardship
  • Participating in professional development and school activities

Required Skills and Qualifications 
  • A Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Significant experience and verifiable track record of meeting annual contributed revenue goals
  • Self-starter who enjoys a challenge, takes ownership, and likes to build 
  • A strong ability to connect and build relationships with students, staff, guardians, and the community. This person cannot sell the program without a deep connection to the people who drive our mission
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
  • Natural ability to network with professionals
  • ‘Grit’–the ability to continue pushing for jobs in the face of skepticism and objections
  • Familiarity with the Greater Bay Area business community preferred
  • Technical skills to navigate standard business platforms and software (Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Google Cloud Platform, relational donor database – DonorPerfect preferred)

Compensation

Placement on salary scale is based on education and experience. Salary ranges from $90,000 – $120,000 depending on experience
