Freshmen students from Cristo Rey De La Salle East Bay High School’s inaugural class of 2022 presented articulate and heartfelt speeches about their school and work experience at the first Cristo Rey De La Salle East Bay High School “Friendraiser” event held at the Claremont Country Club on Thursday, November 8th.
About 40 guests attended the event to network and learn about the newest Cristo Rey (there are 35 across the country) that opened in the Fruitvale district of Oakland on August 15th. Guests viewed a Cristo Rey De La Salle East Bay High School video, followed by student associates sharing their current experience attending the Catholic high school which utilizes a personalized learning model to meet students where they are academically to maximize their educational experience. The evening concluded with a message from President and CEO Mike Anderer followed by socializing with current donors, potential donors, students, staff, and faculty.
Governed and operated by the Brothers of the Christian Schools, the new Cristo Rey High School combines a rigorous college preparatory curriculum with a corporate work study experience in a diverse Lasallian Catholic learning community, preparing students of limited economic means to succeed in college and in life.
